A while back, I read Knowing Me, Knowing You and was very impressed with Mandy's writing style. Then I read another book of hers that wasn't my cup of tea (but I heard others liked that one). However, I decided to give her writing another chance and I'm so glad I did. Excess All Areas is on the same impressiveness level as KMKY, if not better! It was cute and funny throughout. I loved Freya's candor and the way she didn't put up with people who tried to push her around. The armchair adventure aspect was also a treat, as I have never been to Greece. I still felt like I could picture it as though I'd been there 100 times, through Mandy's great use of description. The only thing that didn't work so well was Freya overreacting to Russell's humiliation in the beginning. I felt she should have just confronted him and still run off afterward. It wasn't like he thought he was doing something wrong on purpose at the time. Excess All Areas is a delightful read, especially when you are in the mood to be swept away on a vacation with a side of romance. I just found out that Public Property is the sequel, so I definitely look forward to reading that too!

I absolutely loved this book. It was a true under dog story and Freya finally got something she deserved in the end. Can't wait to read more for Mandy Baggot she is truly an exceptional author.
Having read many of Ms. Baggot's books I was expecting a fun story on a Greek island with Freya and Nicholas, what I got instead was a much deeper story that took me down a road I was not expecting. This is one of those books you don't want to skip over because the undertones of the story hold up when the secrets are revealed! Pick this one up today for a good read!
This book was really do much more than I expected; well written, extremely humorus and a great story to boot. I read it within 24 hours, just couln't put it down. Loved all of the characters as well as the author's writing style. I was almost put off by another reviewer who said the novel was full of typos; it most certainly wasn't! Check out the 'look inside' and you will be hooked!
Freya is supposed to celebrate her thirtieth birthday with her boyfriend Russell. But some fortunate or unfortunate comments she overheard him say causes her to flee the restaurant and fly out to visit her friend instead. This turns out to be the wisest decision she could have ever made as she ends up meeting a really chunky actor Nicholas. A man that appreciates her curves, Freya soon finds herself falling in love. But are things really over with her ex and can she keep herself from second guessing what she is finding with Nick. A great book that really makes you feel like you are on vacation with Freya.
I recently won a signed book by Mandy Baggot and thought I'd read her other books while I waited for it to arrive. So by process of eenie meenie miney mo, this is the first book I started with.

I love the cover. I can not tell you how many books I've read where the cover does not match the description of the actual character. It's not just been in self published books, but ones by the big publishers too. It drives me nuts. Anyhow, the couple on the cover is much truer to the book as a silhouette can be. The contents of the silhouette are one Freya Johnson, photographer extraordinaire, and Nicholas "Nick" Kaden, the Hollywood hunk du jour. Freya is not your average heroine. She's not a perfect US size 2/UK size 4. She's a US 18/UK 20 with a lot of attitude and heart, and I really liked that, especially since she doesn't fit the mold of a romance novel heroine.

They meet by fate on the beautiful island of Corfu, which if it's the way Ms.Baggot described, sounds divine and I want to go right now as long as it's not too cold. Freya might seem confident, but she's not on the inside and so she questions whether or not Nick's feelings for her are real. I really liked Freya. She had sass and she defended those she cared about fiercely. Freya was not only a great friend, but also had great friends like Emma. I felt as if I could really relate to Freya.

The story is great. I was really crabby and even possibly quite rude when pulled away from my reading. I was engrossed and wanted to know what happened next. I am sure you will be drawn in to this book too, just as I was.
